"A Home from Home"

We at Glangarnant regard our home as a community in which different people, from all walks of life, for one reason or another, come together. It is within this community that we, as carers, aim to create an environment which as far as possible simulates the service users own home.

Professioanals are fully committed to ensuring that all who live in Glangarnant Care Home do so with dignity and that they have:

•         The right to privacy

•         The right to preservation of their individuality

•         The right to achieve the fulfilment of their physical and emotional needs

Care workers will ensure that service users maintain their fundamental rights to freedom of choice, self determination and as far as they are able, to maintain their cultural traditions and lifestyle.

Testimonials

"My beloved grandmother was here for a very short time, but the tender care and loving respect shown to both her and us as a family were exceptional, the team of staff lead by the manager is really second to none. I thank you all."

"My father has now been a resident at Glangarnant for nearly 3 years. He was very unwell on his arrival, however within months his condition drastically improved - he gained weight, looked healthier and was in good spirit despite suffering from dementia. The staff always treat the residents with dignity and respect and are extremely diligent - as a family we are kept updated of my father's health and well-being and if there are any issues, they are always dealt with efficiently.

There is a homely atmosphere and the residents enjoy a lounge area where they can listen to music, watch tv and play games; once a week they have a singer in the larger lounge. However, I would suggest that in future they try to improve the condition of the external patio area as it would be nice to sit outside during the summer months when visiting. The place could do with a little modernisation/new furniture, but that's a minor point given the excellent care they provide.

Well done Glangarnant!"
